From the Editor’s Desk

In presenting this second issue of our newsletter, the CC Journal, we celebrate completing one year of the Compassionate Courage initiative. What a journey it has been! We encountered many people along the way and continued to walk with others while inviting others to walk with us. Some people left the walk halfway through for their own journeys, while others joined us mid-way. We plan to keep going.

Through this issue, I want to remind all of us how much our contributions to social change matter. Yes, I know we disagree on the social change we want to see in the world. Therefore, all the more reason for us to speak up, challenge one another with respect, and act when ready.

And while we care for ourselves, we need at this time to go the extra mile and be there for each other. There is just too much suffering around us. If we care for each other, everyone will be cared for, and we will be a much stronger community. My dear friend Perri McCary always says, “there are no “others,” just us!” We share this planet, and it is in our interest that we do not tear it apart.

I hope you will enjoy our second issue, and as always, we welcome your thoughts, comments, suggestions and contributions to our future issues. The form on this page will get your messages on the newsletter to us.

Stay courageous, be compassionate, and do act.
